QBE appoints global head as data centre insurance risks expand

QBE has appointed Jamie Thompson as Global Head of Data Centres, creating a dedicated senior role as the insurer seeks to develop an integrated insurance proposition for one of the fastest-growing areas of global infrastructure.
London-based Thompson previously headed the Financial Lines team within QBE’s International Markets division.

In his new position, he will bring together expertise from underwriting, risk engineering, claims and distribution to develop insurance solutions designed for data centres around the world.
The appointment reflects the rapid expansion of a sector increasingly driven by cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
