SkinView Medic combines AI and medical expertise

With skin cancer cases continuing to rise in France and access to dermatologists becoming increasingly difficult, SkinView Medic has opened a specialist facility in the Bordeaux area designed to provide faster screening through a combination of medical expertise, full-body imaging and artificial intelligence.

The model reflects two increasingly pressing challenges facing dermatology. Demand for skin cancer screening is growing, while the number of practising specialists has fallen.
Figures cited by SkinView Medic suggest that around 200,000 new cases of skin cancer are recorded in France each year. The number of new cases more than tripled between 1990 and 2023, with melanoma accounting for around 10 % of cases and remaining the most aggressive form of the disease.
